 Should you take the Monorail or Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom?

Monorail vs. Ferry Boat

This is kind of a debate for my family once we take the trams/walk to the transportation area of Magic Kingdom.  Should we take the Monorail or the Ferry Boat.  Mostly it can depend on a few things.  

1. The crowd calender of the parks at the time. 
2. If you are traveling with a stroller.
3. How well you do with ramps.
4. and if it is your first trip the the parks

Here are the facts.

Monorail-

The Monorail system was first  ran on October 1,1971, and expanded to Epcot on June 1, 1982.  The Monorail can transport  7,000 guest per direction per hour.  On an average 15,000 guest use the Monorail each day.  With a system that covers 14.7 miles, the Monorail can take on a different look by decorating them with wraps.

Runs 8am to 1 hour after park closing hours.
On the resort side 7 am to 1 hour after park closing times.
Runs every 15 minutes or sooner.   


Ferry Boats-

The first Ferry Boats were launched with the parks first opening. Boats can transport 600 guest and 3 crew members per hour.

Runs 7:30 am to 1.5 hours after park closing hours.
3 Ferry Boats run during peak hours
2 Ferry Boats run late night.
Runs every 10-20 minutes.

So, you say which should my family choose.

On your first visit I suggest taking the Monorail to Magic Kingdom and the Ferry Boat on your way back to the parking lot.
